Hello users,
today I wanna show you how to deodex your Samsung ROM. I personally had difficulties deodexing my ROM correctly, so I thought this can be helpful.
What you need is:
1. Tool for deodexing Android:
forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/tool-deodex-tool-android-l-t2972025Procedure:
1. Download es file explorer (or any explorer who has access to system folder)
2. Navigate to the root directory of your device.
3. Copy app, framework, priv-app and build.prop in the /system folder to your sdcard
4. Connect your device with the computer and copy the files into a new folder called "system" on your computer.
5. Last but not least open the tool and select the system folder from step 4. Make sure you've ticked app, framework and priv-app in the tool. Then click execute and the tool starts deodexing the files. (The files will be saved in the same directory where the tool is)
Note: if the program fails, check that the path where the odexed files are placed doesn't contain any spaces ("no_space") instead of ("no space")If you still getting errors deodexing the ROM, try this:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63688713&postcount=4876. (optional): Delete
Google Drive in the app folder because it
may break the ROM (I had to delete it on my SM-T550)
Installation to your device:
What you need is TWRP recovery.
1. Delete the old folders (app, priv-app and framework) on your device.
2. Put the deodexed files onto your device (app, framework and priv-app).
3. Reboot into recovery.
4. Go to mount and tick system
5. Go back and go to advanced - file manager
6. Now navigate to /system and delete app, framework and priv-app folders.
7. After deleting the folders in system, navigate to /sdcard and copy the app, framework and priv-app folders to system.
8. Last but not least wipe dalvik cache and cache. (If you wipe your data completely you must be very patient (~15 minutes)
9. Reboot and enjoy!
I hope I helped some people deodexing the ROM. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
